Sporting Clube de Goa down Sikkim

I-LEAGUE
Goals from Dawson Fernandes, Pratesh Shirodkar and Seiya Sugishita helped Sporting Clube de Goa to a convincing 3-0 victory over United Sikkim Sports Club in the Aiff’s I-League at the Paljor Stadium, Gangtok on Sunday. Sporting Goa were 2-0 up at the interval.
Dawson Fernandes put Sporting Goa into the lead after just ten minutes with a firm header from close range.
Deep into injury time of the first half Dawson broke forward and fired the ball at the Sikkim goalkeeper, who did well to make an instinctive save, but Pratesh quickly followed up to head home and double the Flaming Oranje’s lead.
In the second session, Sikkim poured men forward but failed to penetrate past a stubborn Goan defence.
Right at the death, Sporting Goa’s leading goal scorer Ogba kalu blasted a free kick which deflected off Seiya Sugishita and the later got the credit as it flew into the back of the net for the third.
