Sporting Clube de Goa shock Prayag

I-LEAGUE
A brace from midfielder Ogba kalu helped Sporting Clube de Goa churn out a 3-1 victory against ten men Prayag United Sports Club in the Aiff’s I-League football competition at Kalyani, West Bengal on Saturday. The match was tied 1-1 at the interval.
Sporting Goa raced into the lead in the fifth minute when Kalu coolly slotted home a penalty, after Dawson Fernandes was brought down by Prayag custodian Subrata Paul on route to goal.
Ten minutes later, Prayag found the equalizer after Lalkamal Bhomwick’s shot was saved by the Sporting Goa goalkeeper Ashok Singh, but Ranty Martins was on hand to belt home the rebounder.
Changing over there was good opportunities for both teams to inflate the lead, but it took until the 69th minute for Sporting Goa to race ahead again, after a good move involving Pratesh Shirodkar and Joseph Pereira was finished off by Kalu.
In the last three minutes, Prayag’s misery worsened when M. Zakeer was shown the straight red card for using abusive language towards the referee.
Deep into injury, kalu spun the ball out to Freiman Peixote, who burst past his marker on the flank and neatly squared the ball for Joseph to tap in and seal a valuable three points for the Flaming Oranje.
